This is a pretty china teapot that was made in Japan and distributed by United China and Glass Company (UCAGCO), an American importer based in New Orleans and New York from approximately the 1930’s until 1956. Petite in size, this lidded teapot measures approximately 4 ½” in height (including handle), 5 ½” in length (including spout and handle) and 3” in width.
It features a very unique upturned handle, a lid with finial and vent hole, a bright white background that is decorated with a rose motif, shiny gold accents, and a scalloped rim. Marked on the base is the gold, "UCAGCO China - Made in Japan" stamp.
This vintage teapot is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, or any evidence of damage. There is an age stain on the inside bottom as shown in the photos. Other than that it's held up very well.
